In April 2026 there was an unprecendented heatwave in India with 90% of cities averaging above 40° Celsius temperatures. 95-97 of the 100 hottest cities in the world were located in India in the month of April. Scientists have attributed this incredible heat wave to El Nino, weak western disturbance and heat domes. Scientists have also suggested weak monsoons in India. But does astrology and planetary transits support this forecast?
Atleast according to planetary configurations heatwave will increase after 8th May 2026 once Venus enters Mrigshira the fiery nakshatra ruled by Mars. From 11th May 2026 Sun will enter fiery Krittika owned by Sun himself while Mars will enter Ashwini nakshatra which is a fiery nakshatra owned by Ketu. Mercury will enter Krittika on 13th May 2026. Saturn will enter Revati and aspect Uttara Bhadrapada from 17th May 2026. Not to mention Jupiter from Punarvasu is already aspecting Moola nakshatra which is another fiery nakshatra.
In short time between 10th May 2026 to around June 2026 will see increase in temperatures in India and regions around the world which experience heat during May. There can be unprecedented heatwave with temperatures going near or above 50° Celcius in certain regions.
It is very important for readers to avoid travels and outdoor activities during this 20 odd days especially in regions which experience heat in May. Readers are advised to stay hydrated, carry ORS packets with them, water trees and plants in surrounding areas and ensure they fill water for pets and birds.
Normally monsoons start in Kerala, India in last week of May around the time when Sun enters Rohini nakshatra which is ruled by Moon. Even Mars will move into Bharani nakshatra ruled by Venus and Jupiter will move into water sign Cancer on 2nd June 2026 and that too in its own nakshatra Punarvasu. So there can be sufficient rainfall atleast from 25th May to 18th June 2026 in India and regions where rainfall is common in June. This holds especially true for regions located in northern hemisphere.
According to BPHS Indra the God of thunder and rainfall is primary diety associated with Jupiter. So Jupiter's transit plays a very big role in rainfall especially its transits via nakshtras. While initial rainfall can be quite good when Jupiter enters Cancer and is placed in Punarvasu but afterwards Jupiter will enter Pushya nakshatra between 18th June to 19th August 2026. Over and above it will aspect Anuradha and Uttara Bhadrapada both of whom are ruled by Saturn who is knowns to delay and sometimes deny. This can put breaks on regular rainfall in most regions. There can either be no rainfall or less rainfall than expected during this time period.
Pushya being ruled by Saturn often delays results but generally doesn't deny. So chances are there can be good rainfall a week before or perhaps after 19th August 2026 when Jupiter is about to leave Pushya nakshatra. Afterwards perhaps there can be above average rainfall atleast in South India when Jupiter travels via Ashlesha and aspects Shravana for some parts of its transit via Ashlesha.
Jupiter when it reaches 7°40' in Cancer Sign will start influencing Shravana Nakshatra which is the exact opposite nakshatra located in Capricorn. Shravana being ruled by Moon has water element in abundance. This aspect can bring heavy torrential rains, cloudbursts, landslides and flash floods in certain regions. There can be heavy loss of lives especially around hilly regions or areas near sea.
By and large Jupiter's transit via Pushya can be troubling for regular rainfall. So India and surrounding areas which expect rainfall between June to September should brace themselves for below average monsoon.
As explained in first paragraph scientists have warned of above average heat and below average monsoons in most parts of India. Astrology is a predictive subject and cannot challenge a proper researched subject like meteorology. We would encourage our readers to trust science and treat this article as a mere prediction which may or may not come true.
Based on astrology there is a good chance of extreme heatwave atleast until June 2026 in most parts of India. Afterwards there can be good rainfall, followed by nearly two months of less or no rainfall. There can be cloudbursts in hilly regions or typhoons and heavy rainfalls in areas near ocean after Jupiter crosses 7°20' into Cancer Sign. Rest of regions may continue to struggle with below average rainfall. Finally a week before or after 19th August 2026 normal rainfall can resume in India and rest of regions which expect rainfall in June and July every year.
