In Ayurveda which is the medicinal branch of vedic knowledge a body has three major constitution. Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Dosha(fault) and Prakriti(nature) are words used to describe the constitution. So if a person has pitta constitution then it is also known as pitta dosha or pitta prakriti.
Pitta dosha is when natives have more prominence of Fire and Water Elements in the body and there is an imbalance in the body due to there prominence. Elements are better described in article: Elements and Astrology.
Acid reflux, burning sensation in chest area and stomach, Skin problems, early greying of hair, skin rashes, acne, slow metabolism, skin irritation, mood swings especially anger and even toxins in blood are possible due to pitta dosha.
Pitta dosha is caused due to imbalance of fire and water element in the body. That is likely to happen when fiery planets like Sun, Mars and Ketu are located in watery signs like Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces. But even those born with sscedant located in earthy signs like Taurus, Virgo or Capricorn can get Pitta Dosha if there is an aspect or presence of fiery planets.
All milk products especially butter milk with ajowan caroway(Ajwain) or fennel seeds(Saunf/Jeera) powder. Fruits like papaya or water melon can also cure pitta dosha. Most of the green vegetables are great for negating pitta dosha. Natives should regularly drink yogurt(half or full bowl). Also panchamrut (mixture of milk, ghee, sugar balls, honey and yogurt) can help with Pitta Dosha. One of the best remedies for pitta dosha is coconut water in the morning. It aids digestion, helps remove toxins and also gives a glowing skin.
Avoid eating pulses and root vegetables at night. If consumed do plan to eat products like watery fruits like papaya or water melon and milk products like yogurt or butter Milk afterwards. Avoid oily, spicy and non-vegetarian foods especially at night time. Natives with pitta dosha should avoid red meat at all cost. Also food rich in Vitamin C and those which are sour, sweet or bitter taste like mangoes, lemons etc. Also avoid consuming water an hour below or after the meal. That would help lessen affects of Pitta Dosha.
For slow metabolism and burning sensation there is Tadasana, Vriksahana, Paschimotanasana, Naukasana and Trikonasana. For skin problems 12 steps of Surya namaskhar are recommended. Those who suffer from anger issues and mood disorders due to Pitta Dosha should avoid yoga and heavy work-out as it builds up more frustration in them.

Kapal Bhati is the most preferred especially in morning for about 15-20 minutes. Also Anulom Vilom and Brahmari Pranaam have been known to help tackle effects of Pitta Dosha like anger, mood swings and skin disease.
