Chattra Yoga comes under category of Nabhasha Yogas and is mentioned in B.V. Raman's 300 Important Combinations. Nabasha Yogas are described in other old astrological texts like Brihat Jataka and Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra(BPHS).
Term Chattra in sanskrit means umbrella or under someone's protection. This yoga may have got its name as this yoga happens between ascendant(first house) and seventh house and can give protection in career and income if there is strength in planets.
Chhatra Yoga is a very simple yoga formed when seven planets including Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn are placed in continuous houses between seventh house to first house.
Since B. V. Raman's mentions seven planets so we have to assume that two shadow planets namely Rahu and Ketu are not taken into consideration. This yoga although rare can happen almost every year. Having said that chances of Malika Yoga are more in horoscope as it does not start from seventh house like Chhatra Yoga.
According to B. V. Raman one with Chhatra Yoga makes native happy and successful.
If this yoga does occur most planets will be between seventh house and ascendant. Seventh house deals with business, tenth house with career, eleventh house with income, eight house with backend work and twelfth house with foreign relocation. If Chhatra Yoga does occur there is every chance that native is doing well in career or struggling in it depending on planetary strength. He could also be frequent long term traveller or one who studies and settles abroad.
Chhatra Yoga is similar to Malika Yoga. Only difference is Chhatra Yoga has to occur between seventh house and ascendant while Malika Yoga can occur from any house. If Rahu and Ketu are also in seventh house and ascendant than there will also be an intense Kaal Sarp Yoga formed along with Chhatra Yoga and Malika Yoga.
