Life isn't fair with everyone. Some people get all the luxuries in life while others struggles getting even basic necessities. Troublesome part is seeing the sincere, hardworking and honest individuals suffer while the deceitful and pretentious individuals see success and happiness. Its easy to lose faith in karma and try the illegal route to success. But law of karma is absolute: As you sow, so shall you reap.

Only problem is karma's fruits are not limited to this life. There is a concept called sanchit karma which means stored karma which may accumulate over countless births and rebirths.

Most naysayers and critics lose it when there is a mention of past life/lives, rebirths and karma. They find it ludicrous to accept that actions of past lives sins can come to haunt them in this life. Cause none of us actually know what we were and what we did in past lives.

But stars and planets have been there for billions of years. They have been watching and witnessing our acts in all previous lives. They bear testimony to the sins we have committed and good acts we have done. And they are arranged in horoscope in such a way to give an indication of good/bad karma done in previous lives.

To be honest its hard to decipher the exact wrong done in previous lives via horoscope. But looking at the afflictions to planets or houses a general idea is possible. Below are general indicators when there is affliction to planets and what do they indicate about past lives.

Sun represents father, king, fame, will-power, pride, health, soul and career. When Sun is afflicted in horoscope there is a good chance that you have done wrong to father in one of your previous lives. Or you have betrayed or been disloyal to your king. Alternatively it could be you were a ruler and did wrong to your subjects. Your actions have impacted health and will-power of someone. You have stalled career of someone or your false pride has not let you apologize when in wrong.

Moon represents mother, mind, home, motherland, emotions, queen, empathy, kindness and money. When Moon is afflicted in horoscope there is a good chance you have done wrong to mother in one of your previous lives. Or you have acted against interest of your motherland. You have hurt someone emotionally most likely for many years. You failed to show empathy or kindness when it was required. You took money via fraud means that belonged to others.

Mars represents siblings, speed, anger, accidents, fire, warrior, destruction, metals especially iron, surgery, RBC, courage and valor. When Mars is afflicted in horoscope there is a good chance you have done wrong to siblings or used wars as means to bring about destruction and deaths, been hateful and angry with others, torchered others and hated people for no reason. Your actions have lead to accidents, fire, injuries, relocation and even death to others.

Mercury represents skin, speech, communication, youngsters, prince, intelligence, general knowledge, calculations, accountancy and arguments. When Mercury is afflicted there is a good chance you have mocked looks and skin color of others, been rude with others frequently, lied and been dishonest in speech, used intelligence to fool others, bragged about general knowledge, done accounting frauds and frequently engaged in arguments with others.

Jupiter represents children, knowledge, education, spirituality, religion, gains, fortune, adviser and liver. When Jupiter is afflicted there is a good chance you have been harsh with children, used your knowledge and education to fool as well as deceive others, used religion and spirituality to cause harm to others, given bad advise when holding influential position, collected gains via unethical means and consumed more resources than required including food. Afflicted Jupiter could also mean you have hurt elderly, mocked someone's spiritual and religious beliefs or probaby harmed a pious soul or brahmin(priest).

Venus represents luxuries, sex, sexual organs, sweet items, beauty, fragrance, fashion and rejuvenation. When Venus is afflicted there is a good chance you have been disloyal to your spouse, used people for sexual gratification, been arrogant and rude with others due to your beauty, fashionable clothes and luxurious life. You have judged people wrongly based on riches, beauty, clothes and standard of living rather than character and integrity of a person. Many times those who encounter diabetes, STD(sexually transmitted diseases) and physical deformities genetically with no fault of theirs may have afflicted Venus in birth chart.

Saturn represents subordinates, depression, scarcity, famine, wavering mind, oppression, old age and misery. When Saturn is afflicted there is a good chance that person has been neglitent towards ones duties, treated subordinates in a bad manner and exploited them, caused mental agony to others, their actions lead to famine and scarcity, treated elderly with contempt and piled misery on others. Those who are overtly negative, lack clarity, clinically depressed and full of remorse due to afflicted Saturn may have caused others to feel similar pain in one of their previous lives.

Rahu represents illusion, fog, anxiety, chemicals, poison, toxins, mystery, magic, PR and eclipse. When Rahu is problematic there is a good chance you have fooled and conned others, used deceitful tactics to gain money, fame and love. You used your intelligence to bring other people's downfall. There is also a chance you used drugs, medicines, chemicals and toxins to harm others. Ofcourse Rahu is mysterious and its impossible to judge exactly in what way it will punish an individual.

Ketu represents disillusion, frustration, anti-social, constant critic and a miserable individual. When Ketu is problematic there is a good chance that person has torchered others either physically or mentally. Sometimes an afflicted Ketu also means you have manipulated someone who was frustrated to do something against the ethos of society which resulted in him being castigated and hated by the society.

The horoscope house where afflictions happen can give better indication of what might have happened in previous life. For example bad influences on sixth house and twelfth house and losing money via gambling or fraud is a good indicator you have stolen someone's riches in one of your previous life. Afflictions in seventh house and getting deceived or cheated in a relationship is a good indicator that in one of your past life you have wronged someone in relationship.

Some natives will find it hard to believe in past life/lives. But astrology relies heavily on past life to judge events of present life. Many bad and good yogas in horoscope are a result of past life sins and virtues. If you are placing your faith in astrology than you need to accept that soul undergoes countless births and rebirths.

Even if you don't believe in it there is no escaping karma. You will get fruits of your karma both good and bad. As famous saying goes: Karma has no menu, you get served what you deserve.
