Ekadashi is the eleventh and most auspicious tithi. Ekadashi is ruled by Rudra(Shiva) but prayers and fasting are done for Narayana who is revered by Shiva. Ekadashi is far more ideal for spiritual activities such as penance, pilgrimages and religious chantings. Ekadashi falling in Shukla Paksha is better for marriage and stock market investments. Ekadasha falling in Krishna Paksha is more ideal for get togethers and improving communications with loved ones.
